Daniel Morcombe was a 13 year old boy who was abducted on the Sunshine Coast in 2003. The death of Daniel Morcombe is one of the most extensively investigated crimes in Queensland's history. The foundation is committed to raising awareness and educating Australian children about personal safety and of the dangers of predatory criminals.

Currently, Daniel’s parents and the founders of the foundation, Denise and Bruce Morcombe are travelling around Australia to promote Keeping Kids Safe initiatives. The Foundation is committed to assisting young people that are victims of crime and supporting the families of missing children. Tyro Events members were all born around the same period as Daniel and were all around the same age as Daniel when he was abducted, therefore this is why Tyro Events have chosen this charity.

The Speakeasy Ball fits the Daniel Morcombe Foundation because this event will be based around having a brilliant night, raising awareness for the foundation and enjoying life by celebrating and honouring Daniel. Tyro Events feel that the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and the Morcombe family have done so much for the community that it’s time to give back and this is why all proceeds, after expenses raised during The Speakeasy Ball will be donated to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
